Tying Tuesday: Hit ‘Em High, ...

This week’s Tying Tuesday options an eclectic mixture of patterns for trout, bass, and saltwater species. We kick issues off with Barry Ord Clarke’s model of a Gradual-Water Caddis, which has few supplies however includes some delicate maneuvers to get the wings hooked up. The result’s a great-looking imitation that may stand up to shut inspection by cautious trout. Subsequent up is an Adirondacks basic, Lee Wulff’s Ausable Wulff, demonstrated by Gary Morin. It’s the type of buggy, bushy dry fly that may keep afloat within the roughest water, and it’s efficient in a dry-dropper setup.

Our subsurface part contains a streamer that works equally properly for bass and trout, the Sparkle Minnow. Tier Adam Lafferty makes use of two EP brushes to create a full, flashy physique with loads of motion within the water. Then we’ve received one other basic, Lefty’s Saltwater Deceiver, demonstrated by Sandeman Fly Fishing. After which we finish with Ryan Ratliff from Mad River Outfitters explaining the variations between fly-tying hooks. It’s a real smorgasbord.
